Hello! Welcome to MeadowLark!
I'm so glad you're here. I can't wait to get to know you, but first, let me share a little about myself.
I grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology. From there, my husband and I ventured to St. Louis, where I completed medical school at Washington University and OB/GYN residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
After residency, we returned to the Mountain West to be closer to family, the slopes, and 300 days of sunshine — because Midwest winters are no joke! We welcomed our first daughter, and I practiced in Denver for several years before moving to Longmont and eventually joining Kaiser Permanente. Our second daughter arrived in 2016.
My residency training prepared me well for pregnancy care, gynecologic surgery, and obstetric emergencies — but nothing prepared me for the wide range of symptoms women experience as they enter their late 30s and 40s. I knew hot flashes and night sweats were classic menopause symptoms, but that wasn't what most of my patients were struggling with. They came to me burdened by weight gain, brain fog, mood swings, low libido, joint pain, dry skin, hair loss, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. And far too often, I found myself saying, "Welcome to your 40s — I guess this is just how it is now," because I simply didn't have better answers. (Cringe.)
Then it happened to me. After the birth of my second child, I began experiencing those same symptoms — along with debilitating migraines, profound fatigue, and depression. I saw my PCP. I saw a neurologist. I tried multiple medications, started an antidepressant, went to therapy. I was doing everything "right," and still wasn't getting better. What I knew for certain was that I couldn't live that way forever.
Everything changed when I found a functional medicine physician who helped me through a thoughtful blend of traditional medicine and lifestyle interventions. That experience lit a fire in me. I pursued additional training through the Institute for Functional Medicine and became a Certified Menopause Practitioner through The Menopause Society — and I remain deeply committed to continually learning and expanding my skills to better serve women throughout their life.
My vision for MeadowLark is simple: to create a space where women feel truly heard, supported, and empowered to become the healthiest, strongest, most vibrant version of themselves. I'm so excited to partner with you on this journey.
When I'm not seeing patients, you'll find me on the slopes, on the tennis court, or out for a run. I'm an avid reader and love any excuse to spend time with friends, family, and my needy Golden Retriever, Luna
